Yale Humanity Building

イメージ
Another beautiful building at Yale, different from the building I usually study in. The inside was more modern compared to what I'd seen before. They also have a lounge with air-conditioning, allowing me to write this blog comfortably. It took a while to figure out where this was, but it is worth it. All the Yale building looks the same from the outside, yet it is different inside. There are small details engraved on the walls and the ceiling, plus the door is well hidden and blended into the background, keeping the atmosphere here. It is pretty close to where I live, which is the Hopper, so I would love to come back for productive studying.

Yale Law School

Yale Law School: a dream place for many people without a doubt. I wouldn't have come here without an opportunity, so I am glad I joined this course. The architecture itself was beautiful with portraits of many historic figures. I would feel amazing if I were studying here, everything is present: books, desks, beautiful and comfortable environments to stay, plus a motivation.

Beinecki Library

イメージ
My first time in this library. The moment I entered this library, I was amazed. I had only seen the picture of the inside, so it was mesmerizing to see the actual place. All the books are irreplaceable and that is why they are all stored in a glass case. The walls are all made from marble, to avoid unnecessary UV rays but to bring in the light. There are so many libraries here at Yale, and they are all different from each other.

bell at Yale

My friends and I went to see the bell. Since the day I arrived at Yale, I often heard the bell ring and was curious about where the sound came from. I thought it was automatic, but it seems it is always played by someone. We went up the staircase for a while and saw the practice rooms and above that, an actual bell and the instrument. It looked like a piano, but instead with more pedals and levers to press. Students in the club demonstrated how it works and kindly played a few songs for us. It was amazing, and we tried pressing a few keys too. It was absolutely a special experience!!

my dorm at yale

This is where I am going to live for the next 3 weeks, Grace Hopper College. Pretty close to dining hall and the academic building, so far, I am enjoying my new life here. Except, we have no air conditioning and I am barely surviving with my 2 fans. The fact that my room is located in the 5th floor is a little annoying since I would have to go up the stairs when I forget things but I guess it’s part of my leg work out. Well, the grass area is surrounded by other dorms and my friends and I sometimes sit there and chat. There are little game spots called Buttery Hall with billiards, ping pong table, and fooseball in the basement too!

trip to the lake

イメージ
Last Friday, I went to a lake at East Lyme with a yellow school bus; a typical school bus you will find anywhere in the US, carrying students. I believe it was about an hour drive from the campus. I had a burger with cookies for lunch after getting off the bus. My friends and I went canoeing on the lake and swam there and also met a mental support dog. I was exhausted at the end but I had fun and I am glad for the opportunity.
